Shakhtar
Donetsk (Ukrainian league)
Shakhtar Donetsk arrived in Marbella early in February after spending
a week training in Cadiz.
They were a very large group of 45 people, including Bernd Schuster
the ex. German International who is now Shakhtar’s coach. The
group stayed at the 5 star hotel Westin La Quinta just minutes away
from MPF Marbella training centre
They’re schedule was a light training session 1 hour on our
7 a side pitch in the mornings, with a harder training session in
the afternoons…they decided to train when the sun had already
gone down with the flood lights on.
We organized a friendly match for the team against the Malaga B team.
The Malaga team came out on top winning 2-1.
The group had a great stay, and was keen to get the new season under
way.
